Tèxtil Espinal S.L., formerly Textil Leridana, S.A, is a family business which was founded by Ignasi Espinal i Prat in 1918 in Santpedor , Catalonia , Spain.
At first, the company manufactured clothes for olive grove workers, but as it grew, a shop was opened in Lerida which not only sold goods for retailers, but also factory-made commercial items and basic household textiles.
In 1930, the business expanded further and a second shop was opened in carrer Junqueres in Barcelona . Following the move, the company's name was changed to its current one, Textil Espinal, S.L.
Although Textil Espinal's factory was closed at the end of 1965 when it stopped making clothes for olive grove workers, the company continued to sell to retailers and also began selling to wholesalers, primarily hotels and small to medium size businesses.
In 2001, the office in carrer Junqueres, which had been dedicated to selling to retailers, was closed. The company then set up another provisional office in Amargos Street and later moved to its current office, located at 29 carrer Moles in Barcelona. |
